Marilyn Monroe for sale on a Midtown Manhattan wall, her photo pitched to sell a product, fifty years after her tragic death ended in suicide.

Her beauty never died. Marilyn Monroe’s face still shows up in ads all the time. In Midtown, one day, I found this image looking down on the Midtown Manhattan street. Everyone recognizes that face, all these years later.

Sexy Hair is interesting to me and sort of a puzzle. Was she really that much more beautiful than any other blonde, before or since? Or was it just that her story is so tragic, it sticks with us?
