Abraham Hicks Skeptic

15 Reasons Why You Can’t Trust Esther Hicks Now

If you believe, as I do, that anyone offering guidance from the highest spiritual source ought to be consistent and original, you’ll find Esther Hicks lacking. If you believe any God worth having would be compassionate, you won’t find that in Abraham.

My fifteen reasons are a brief summary. I could easily find a hundred contradictions and errors in fact. If you’re looking for a teacher, you can find better.

And that’s a fact.

      • THE UGLY HAG NEED’S TO BE STOPPED! SHE’S A SCAM AND HER TEACHING METHODS DON’T WORK!

      • Why Esther taking or not is not the point. The point is the core of her teaching is proven by other teachers. They are actually saying the same things in different ways.

Just like the jesus story. Who knows if it is true ? But the teachings are good for us. They work.

That’s the only thing that matters. Take what works, that’s all.

Is she is faking it, so be it.

      • The streak continues. Not a single relevant comment related to the content, just a squishy rationale for hanging on, even if “she is faking.” Tiresome doesn’t begin to describe it.

      • Hi David. I’m sorry that you don’t like Esther Hicks. I’m sure you have others on your “don’t like” list as we all meet people who don’t resonate with us. But why so much hate? She has the same opportunity as you in life and she chose a positive way to help people and earn a living. Whether it resonates with you or not, she’s doing it. I’m guessing you came across her while looking for hope? I hope you found it. Now go live your best life and for your sake, stop whining 😘

      • Oh, boy. Here we go again, one more A-H follower incapable of addressing a single issue raised. Funny thing is, as a writer, I post critical articles all the time, but none get the kind of thought-free responses Esther Hicks gets. People are free to show me where they think I’m wrong and why, but with Esther’s troops, never. Fact remains, nobody reads such an article if they don’t already have doubts, and the comments are ultimately reactive, subject and lacking in any genuine critical content.

      • My hope really is that one of you might be clearheaded enough to make an objective comment of the content, but veering off the subject is all that ever comes across. It consistently resembles cult behavior.

      • You are a sad little man if you have to spend your time tearing others down to make yourself big. But that’s what insecure people do!

      • Really? Doesn’t it just make you nuts when you try name-calling and insults and it doesn’t work at all?

Now, wait, didn’t your guru say something about non-judgment? Did you play hooky when she gave that speech?

      • Hello David Stone. I am the director of a research institute and I haven’t found one single phrase said by Abraham that is contrary to observation, I just read a few lines of your diatribe and I did not found at least one of your assumptions to be correct. The problem that you have is you lack any training or any kind of education other than watching too much tv, And the fact that you write every sentence with irony or sarcasm is the first clue that you are clueless. If you really want to have a real debate I am the only one that can explain to you the ABC of how things work. I have a few questions first.
        1. How many years you studied the material?
        2. How many of the exercises have you tried and for how long?
        3. How many hours have you heard the material?
        4. What is your current religion? a) Atheism b) Scientism c) Materialism d) Other.
        5. Have you heard about the genome project?
        6. How many years have you trained in applied mathematics?
        7. How many years have you studied religions or theology or any of that?
        8. Were you raised as christian or catholic?
        9. Do you think you know more than anyone?
        10. Do you think no one has the answer?
        11. What is your stand in ufos?
        12. Have you ever studied the subject of “the matrix”?

        Thanks.
        X

ps. Don’t be intimidated by the fact that I run a research institute and I am an expert in everything relevant, I’m just a dude like you.

      • My, my, you have a high opinion of yourself, but of course, you don’t really run a research institute.

But you make the same basic mistake. While unable to mount a single contrary argument, you try to make the author the issue, more or less changing the subject.

As always, we’d be delighted to see a single objective argument, but alas, not yet.

        Nice try, though.

      • I gave you a chance to learn. Yes I run a research institute. You did not answer one single question. You lost the debate.

      • Btwwww I didn’t know where to reply so I just clicked reply on any answer, anyways, before u write something ATLEAST do your research. I heard esther/Abraham say manyyyyyyy times “jerry croaked” “jerry croaked” ‘aahh jerry, he croaked” like in soo many videos so I just thought to tell u.

      • AT LEAST, try to practice what you preach. I don’t know if what you say is true or not because I haven’t listened to anything new from Esther in over ten years, around the time this was written. But I can assure you that she never took that attitude at the time. If she changed, it merely shows that, like most, she eventually returns to a set point. In her case, it’s crude indifference to the suffering of others.

This is a minor point, in any case. It doesn’t change the fact of her lack of empathy.

    • You can debunk anyone! Some of her teachings are helpful to a lot of people. Is she truly channeling the spirit of Abraham? Tell me how many Christian TV evangelists sell a crock of BS to a congregation and get away with it? My point is that some people need inspirational speakers in whatever form they come and Esther Hicks can be very inspiring! Authors like Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, and Jack Canfield are all following a pretty similar philosophy and they all have a following including famous personalities like Oprah Winfrey and Will Smith. New Age teachings are in alignment with authors like Joseph Campbell. Why be so critical of it?

      • irony and sarcasm. You are one of those.

I was a “genius child”, I started my research at 7 years old, when I was 12 I was debating and destroying people like you, parrots I call y’all, you repeat the ideas in the books, you defend your ideas with concepts as “prestigious” or “published” but you are unable to discern if they are true beyond that. I research the validity of ideas, for that I had to read thousands of books, studied many religions, ways of thinking, travel around the world, hammer philosophies in my mind until I went outside of the matrix and found truth. It took me decades. Now I am qualified to discern ideas. You are on the base level of knowledge, 101 of semantics and on the 0 level of intelligence, that means you have zero mental tools to qualify ideas, that means if I say a few ideas you can’t tell me which is true much less ideas that are out of your matrix. And I can tell you flat out, Abraham has never ever utter a sentence that is not 100% congruent with reality.

Your condition is called Cynicism and it has a cure, the use of the phrase “I don’t know”.
Try it. Really try it today. When you are faced with a concept that is out of your mental reach say I don’t know, don’t say no one knows, say I don’t know. Do that for a month and write down the things you don’t know and make the goal to find the information. You have been trained to say “No one knows this” or “everyone knows this” but you will resist that training with your pure will and say I will find out. Then you are on your way out of ignorance, when you finally reach an answer you will notice that you are not bitter any more and you are not using irony or sarcasm to mask the fear of rejection that you got in school when everyone laughed at your stupidity, you will be a step closer to be a man and to have a spouse that is not with you to avoid working.

        Good luck.

      • I am, of course, deeply impressed. Who wouldn’t be?

Now, in all your wisdom and vast insight, can ya just once try to address any item in the content with which you disagree? Any one? You’d be the first. That must count for something, and you can add it to your already amazing list of achievements.

And just to be fair and show I can also brag on myself, I want you to know that I pitched a no hitter when I was only fifteen. I bet you never did that, amazing though you may be.

    • I find it ironic that this dude writes this article bashing someone else about their wealth To sell his book!!!!! Does no one else see the irony? I didn’t see any proof backing up his statements either. All I saw was an Unenlightened individual and all I felt was hate radiating from his words. Makes you wonder why he’s so bitter?

      • Read agin, Tammy. You missed some things, like direct quotes, for example, and saw other stuff that wasn’t there.

PS: This is a very old tactic used when you can’t come up with any convincing counter arguments and are so defensive you just have to say something. You could try actually making your case with facts and thoughtful analysis, if that’s too much.

        Bitterly,

        Unenlightened Individual

      • I completely agree with you Tammy. Those who are awaken can see and feel the ugly in this article. Sad he wasted his time and talent on a hate article. He could have easily used his energy on being empowering others. If we could each just work out our own salvation and study to show our own self approve then more people would be having a happier, healthier, and more productive human experience. If we all just tune in to our higher self, intuition will let each individual know who to listen to and who to avoid. Each person has their OWN inner guidance. There needs to be more teaching around tuning in to your higher self and less focus on letting “man” tell you what to do. In fact, that’s the same thing that Abraham teaches. Get tuned in, tapped in, and turned on to your inner being. All the answers are within!

      • Here we go again, another flighty sing song without a single word about the facts reported. This is cult-like behavior, unthinking and self-satisfied without introspection.

      • I think Tammy and Shira are on to something. I noticed he only replies to the portions of the comments he wants to. He still did not address the fact that he is profiting off of bashing someone else. What a tasteless way to make a living. If you agree with him then you’re an intelligent individual validating his claims. If you disagree with him then you are a flightily individual that drank the kool-aid. Just like the rest of the world today, true journalism at its best. SMH

      • Here again, some old tune, you seem unable to respond to the actual content in anyway, but try protecting your belief system by attacking the messenger. I could be Satan. It doesn’t matter. Deal with the issues or don’t waste your time. This article is not about me or how I make a living. It’s about 16 reasons why Esther Hicks has given people reason to doubt her reliability, based on facts. That’s what you need to wrap your mind around. The rest is just window dressing.

      • Explaining anything to you It is like explaining calculus to a new born. I understand your point of view. I know exactly how you got where you are. American people have it really tough when it comes to knowledge, given the institutionalized ignorance, forced stupidity and systematic depression. Yes, you are depressed but I think you already knew that.

You have been thought through shame and ridicule to agree to a number of assumptions about reality. You have been force feed a religion that is a mixture of absurdities and misconceptions, that religion you practice every day is called The Matrix. An array of ideas and opinions that are congruent among them called “what everyone knows” but that are not consistent with reality. That inconsistency is called “what no one knows” and “theories and hypothesis”. You can find evidence of this in your writing for example when you say “every high school science student knows”.

One simple idea that they have been hiding to you is that happiness and intelligence are the same thing, so if you are depressed you are also incapable of comprehending. You can listen to some material and you can understand its meaning but you are not able to comprehend. For example, you say Abraham says humans and apes are a different idea, you understand the meaning of the words but instead of comprehending that animal and human are two different things you say we share DNA, so the idea just flew above your head. So in the end it’s completely natural that you can’t trust something that you are incapable of understanding. Ironically, Abraham is trying to teach you how to overcome depression and be able to comprehend but you can’t even comprehend that.

I have heard people say something expensive is ugly, it is less painful to say I don’t like it than to say I can’t afford it. So it is just natural that you say I think its a hoax instead of saying This thing that contradicts all my assumptions is too difficult to understand.

For me it is important to leave a comment here for posterity, the time will come when you find out who I am.

        Hugs and kisses.

      • Geez, you didn’t say anything about my baseball prowess. That was thoughtless. Just for that, just to get even, I’m not going to say one word about your being a pretentious windbag. See how you like it.

      • I know what you mean. But I just think he should at least give the teachings of Abraham a try. What Esther teaches can really change your life if you’d just judge the tree by its fruit…

      • I did, for several years, and I found them stimulating. But I also found a lot of hypocrisy and contradiction, and that led to research and the material this post is based on. By the way, I’ve known a couple of people who worked directly and intimately with Esther and with Jerry. They’ve vetted whatever I wrote for accuracy.

It’s important, isn’t it, for people to have a critical voice for contrast, rather than let Esther’s fabulous claims go unchallenged? Then, people can chose for themselves, fully informed, not indoctrinated.

  1. David Stone Youve made quite a living off “debunking” . I guess a bigger fish will come along and debunk you soon.

    • Less than you think, but since this post has been kicking around for more than ten years, I’ve approved a large number of comments from, mostly, people who disagree. That’s fine. Their points of view are as valid as mine or anyone else. I believe a diversity of opinion serves everyone best.

      Thank you.

      • Then why list 15 reasons (opinions) towards one person, if you meant that last sentence

      • There is no substance in your work. Much of what you quote is out of context.
The teachings (not preachings or sermons as you describe them) have saved my life. I have put it all into practice and my life transformed.
It’s odd how people who believe in the “story” of Jesus and the “virgin Mary’ so far fetched it beggars belief so many still believe it. Yet dismiss the idea we have a higher source and full control of creating our lives which is essentially all Abraham tells us.
It is not just this work but many leaders in Science now promote the same ideas and question much of Darwin’s Theory. Perhaps you should broaden you reading into the advances in Science published in the past twenty years. Look up Bruce Lipton’s The Biology of Belief. Read any work by Deepak Chopra.
Darwin’s survival of the fittest theory implies we are all (as you seem to rather we believe) doomed by the genes we inherit at birth. No control, pre programmed. This is what most people have been taught and like you believe. How tragic. Yet this has almost certainly been proven to be false. It is not The Survival of the Lucky fittest genes (humans) it is the Demise of only the weakest. How fit you are how well you strive and succeed is proven to be scientifically proven to be down to your belief system (aka your thoughts) which equates to how you feel (aka you emotions aka your energy/ vibrations).
Bruce also talks about the power of the placebo effect. Something allocated only a tiny fraction of medical training when it is proven absolutely proven if people “believe” something it has a powerful effect on their heeling. Yet doctors prescribe anti-depressants to numb all thoughts and dull down pain and suffering caused by those thoughts rather than teach patients the key is to turn their thoughts around and empower themselves.
Abraham, has a might challenge indeed. As sadly most people like you are brain washed into thinking we’ll all be saved or doomed by some all powerful judgemental “god” and are doomed by the circumstances or our birth and our circumstances.. you see this misery driven belief system everywhere you go.

      • Oh, I must’ve made a mistake. Didn’t you notice this was about Esther Hicks, not Darwin, Deepak Chopra, epigenetics, Christianity or me? I must’ve forgotten to mention her. My bad.

      • You’ve approved them? So if I’m understanding this correctly your saying if you have a rebuttal and want to bash someone else with some type of witty banter then its ok? But if you don’t like what they say it doesn’t get published? How does doing such a thing keep you honest as a writer? Because I had a comment, but after reading that you’ve approved a large number of comments I figured why waste my time to maybe have my opinion heard

      • Unless your opinion is actually about the contents of the article, which almost all of Esther’s followers find too high a hurdle, you’re not contributing anything to the conversation and may not get approved. Your opinions about the writer are generally irrelevant, especially when not accompanied by any comment about the content. The endless efforts of A-H followers to avoid facts by deflecting to motives is tedious and has been for a long time, and when they’re especially thickheaded, it’s hard to resist deleting them. I mean, why waste the space for defensive whining?

Smart, objective disagreement is always welcome, but this stuff’s just boring. Witty banter is fun too, but you guys are basically humorless.
