“Impromptu” is a scene I caught in Carl Schurz Park on the Upper East Side in New York City. On a playground crowned with brilliant flowers, boys play while a stranger walks off stage.
Carl Schurz Park is a mini Central Park on the northern fringe of Manhattan’s Upper East Side, in Yorkville. Just steps away is Gracie Mansion, the official home of New York mayors. The turbulent tidal forces of Hell Gate collide below.
Impromptu is a moment that passed, never to repeated in all the energetic activities in New York City.
You can buy Impromptu as an 8 1/2 X 11 inch giclee print, with or without an 11 X 14 inch textured white mat, or a large 13 X 19 inch print. I do all my own printing on Archival Epson Papers, and each print is signed on the white border beneath the image or on the reverse.
