About Waiting Roosevelt Island Subway…

Deep under Roosevelt Island, alienation unavoidable in NYC Subway travel is stressed. Street photographer Deborah Julian shot this from from an unexpected angle on an upper level platform.

(Roosevelt Island’s popular alternative: The Tram.)

Waiting Roosevelt Island Subway looks at how  New Yorkers connect through an underground architecture. Infrastructure chiseled from stone. Long escalators carry riders to trains between Queens and Manhattan.

The view reminds us of an Orson Welles movie.

This fine art print is an 8 1/2 X 11 giclee finished on museum quality, archival Epson paper

. Deborah Julian prints exclusively in her workshop. Prints are signed on the white border beneath the image or on the reverse.
