City water pressure reaches no higher than the fifth floor. ”

Water towers are ubiquitous and widely misunderstood in New York. Often, they’re mistaken as relics, signs of a fading, older city. But the wooden towers are rarely more than thirty years old, their maximum lifespan before replacement.
